Have resolved the third issue but have tried various links from the forum but with no joy re these detailed below. Has anyone any idea's. Regards

Those devices are part of the "Remote Management" feature -- a centralized system-administrator on a corporate network can access the computer, and make updates.

Have you run the "HP Support Assistant"?

It should find the missing 'AMT' device-drivers.

Of course, if you are the only "administrator", you do not need to install that support -- your computer will work fine without it.

This computer was shipped with Windows 8, not with Windows 7. So, HP probably has not created any device-drivers for "obsolete" software: Windows 7/Vista/XP/2000/NT/98/95/3.1/DOS.

Note that Microsoft support for Windows 7 ends in January 2020 -- not too far away.

At that time, you will need to install Windows 8 (or buy a copy of Windows 10), to continue to get security-updates for Windows.

After January 2020, it's probable that "other" software (anti-virus, Adobe Reader, et cetera) will also NOT be updated.

My recommendation: reinstall Windows 8 -- it should be "painless", and will work until the year 2023, if your hardware lasts that long!

Remove the disk-drive from your computer.

Attach it as a "slave" disk-drive to another computer.

Run the "check-disk" utility ('CHKDSK <drive-letter>:  /F').

It's possible that a "corrupt" file-system has caused that "file is missing" error-message.

Then, put the disk-drive back into your computer, and try to boot.

What version of Windows are you running?

What is the CPU (speed? number of cores? number of threads?)

How much RAM ?

Did you download a device-driver that is intended for a _newer_ version of Windows than you are using?

What message comes before that "hit F1" message?

It could be the small battery on the motherboard that is failing -- not providing enough power to the motherboard to keep the computer's clock running.  Enter BIOS SETUP, and check that the date/time are correct.  About $2 US to buy a replacement "button" battery.

It could be that the disk-drive is "slow" to ramp-up from "zero" (no power) to "ready" (spinning at full speed).

So, when the computer tries to boot, the disk-drive is not yet "ready".

> 3 yrs. old desktop

The warranty on the disk-drive has expired.  Maybe, the disk-drive itself is "dying" ??

Make a good backup, while you can, and consider buying a new disk-drive,

and then "cloning" the current disk-drive onto the new disk-drive.

Yes, opening-up an "all-in-one" computer is much more complicated than opening an "ordinary" desktop.

I think that it's time for you to take your computer to a qualified technician, to check if the power-supply is working correctly -- there's not a lot that anybody on this forum can do with a "dead" computer.

Camera stopped working for windows welcome

The new Pavilion AIO came with Windows 10 a few months back and I have used facial recognition to log in.  All fine until 1 week ago when Windows Welcome screen now  says "Getting ready..." and then "Cannot turn on camera. Use PIn to sign in".

If I go into RealSense, the camera is working fine.  The Windows settings for the camera are all turned on, so nothing seems to have changed.

Is it a recent Windows 10 update that has changed the signal to teh camera?  If so, how do I restire it?

I already have Acronis 2015 and Marcrium Reflect that are 'supposed' to have cloning capabilities. I'll pass on adding a 3rd one right now.

The problem has a simple answer I am sure. I just have not found it yet. Still open to other 'solutions'

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

HP certainly does not provide drivers for Android phones for Windows -- so you will have to look elsewhere.

My suggestion is you check the manufacturer of the phone.  I have a Samsung phone and they provide Windows drivers.

Good Luck
