Re: Windows 7 - UEFI and TPM 2.0

Glad you stumbled on a way to get it to work.

Unfortunately, I would have no idea why clearing the TPM in the BIOS would get bitlocker to work.

Hello,

Of course not Smiley Happy

I got an update saying that the issue seems to be with the OS and asking to completely reinstall the OS and check.

System recovery is the last step to troubleshoot this issue. This option reformats the system drive (usually CSmiley Happy, reinstalls the original operating system and reinstalls all the original hardware drivers and software. So first backup your files and then follow the steps listed here: http://hp.care/2rNLwq4

Once you perform the recovery, your computer will be formatted to the day you purchased the machine. Then go ahead and install the printer software and check.

I know this is a little extreme, but we have exhausted all other steps and this seems to be the only step that could fix the issue at this point Smiley Sad

Good luck Smiley Happy

If you want to try to solve your problem, then uninstall both packages.

You can always reinstall the HP Support Assistant, for free, by downloading it from the HP Support web-site, if you think that you need its functionality.

Ok. Thanks. I will do that as soon as I get a chance.

Wireless Adapter not showing in device manager

My computer recently had a complete harddisk failure. I have replaced the harddisk with new version of Windows 10.  I think my wireless adapter is not being recoginised, it isn't showing in device manager.  I can connect to the internet using a LAN cable but not wirelessly.

How do I get the wireless adapter to show in device manager so that i can configure it?

The answer you seek is "not an HP issue" in that this is apparently something related to your Chrome browser, your Windows Operating System, and related configurations.

What?

Issue is not related to the brand of computer you have.

The website document you linked is rife with grammatical errors -- something of an indication that the source material was originally written in other than English.  Does that make a difference?  Maybe -- source material may have been directed to a different location / audience / situation.

Running a quick internet search using Google, it is apparent the error is an old one, that is, the issue has been around for a long time.  Interesting that the issue is still rearing its ugly little head in today's latest Chrome version and Windows 10.  ??

Please check with the Google Chrome forum and see what is being said about this error.

LSI SAS 2308 drive won't work on Z820 when trying to install windows 7 ent.

Trying to install windows 7 enterprise (64) on a Z820.

it won't see the drive in raid at all for the LSI SAS 2308. So windows won't see the  RAIDED drives

I have downloaded every driver on the "software & driver" page for the LSI SAS 2308 driver, PLUS the ones that are not for the hell of it.

i tried the ones that are "hidden" casue they are not for my system for the fun of it. I google "LSI SAS 2308 drivers" downloaded one from Dell adn tried that.

no matter what i do it won't see the drives.

the only one it see is the " LSI adpater, SAS2 2308 Mustang-storport (lsi_sas2.inf)  but it won't work. it tries then fails EVERYTIME!!

i have never had one been such a pain before!

the only other thing i wanted to add, and forgot is:

i am rebuilding this system, cause it was very slow, and was since new . it had the "OEM" version of windows on it in raid.  so i am not sure if it is having more problem than this, that i am not aware of. it appears to be working normal, but no diagnostic has been run yet

Hi 1Srinidhi,

This is a similar issue to another post just added by LambdaFox. Here was my reply;

"Hi LambdaFox,

I believe it is only motherboards with an UEFI BIOS that can recognise USB 3.0 ports at POST.  Your HP Z800 has a standard Legacy BIOS only whereas the HP Zx20 and HP Zx40 series workstations have both Legacy and UEFI BIOS options. Looks like you are limited to USB 2.0 ports at POST."

The HP Z620 motherboard is not exactly a native UEFI motherboard since the UEFI BIOS boot feature was not available until quite recently. Basically the Z620 motherboard is more of what is termed a 'hybrid' motherboard (Legacy/UEFI) but newer motherboards are UEFI based. I believe the HP Zx40 series workstations will boot from USB 3 without issue but not earlier models.

Thank you for replying with this detailed response Smiley Wink

I appreciate your time and efforts,

I'm not sure why the link didn't work for you as it seems to work just fine for me, perhaps, you could try a different browser?

That said, here's the link again: Click here for instructions.

Also, I understand the F11 recovery manager doesn't turn on and neither do you need it, to enter the Command prompt, however, if it isn't working, I recommend you Contact HP to have your hard drive repaired/replaced as this seems to be a hardware failure, considering none of the alternate methods of resolving the issue aren't working either.

The recovery media wouldn't work unless you have a working hard drive, I recommend you get the drive replaced before you conclude that you've wasted your time or money.

HP Technical Support can be reached by clicking on the following link: http://h22207.www2.hp.com/us-en/?openCLC=true

(1) Once the support page opens please select the country in which you're located. Next, enter your HP model number on the right.

(2) Next, choose the 'Contact Support' tab at the top and scroll down to the bottom of the 'HP Support- Contact' page to fill out the form provided with your contact information.

(3) Once completed click the 'Show Options' icon on the bottom right.

(4) Lastly, scroll down to the bottom of the page and select 'Get the phone number.' A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

They will be happy to assist you immediately.

If the unit is under warranty repair services under the manufacturer's warranty will be free of charge.

If I have helped you resolve the issue,

feel free to give me a virtual high-five by clicking the 'Thumbs Up' icon

followed by clicking on 'Accepted as Solution'

And Have a great day Ahead!
