Re: Cannot remember admin password on my compaq CQ 62-219wm

Hi:

The 8 digit code is a system disabled code.

You need to enter that code in the box at the link below and the website will generate an unlock passcode for you.

https://bios-pw.org/

You restart the PC, and enter that unlock passcode.

I've tried that site and when I am trying to install the program I get this message:

"2007 Microsoft Office system Setup has stopped working.  A proble, caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Succinctly, I have not received any notification.

Well, since that file came 'straight from the horse's mouth' as it were, I would say your only alternative would be to either replace the DVD drive, or borrow a USB DVD drive from someone and install Office via the DVD.

Or ....

Download the free "LibreOffice" software -- it can read and write MS Office/Excel/PowerPoint files.

Plus, it is ten years "newer" then Office 2007.

>  Problem with Microsoft Teredo Tunneling Adapter.    When i try to run a fix it does not work.

Teredo is a transition technology that gives full IPv6 connectivity for IPv6-capable hosts that are on the IPv4 Internet but have no native connection to an IPv6 network.

Question: do you have a need for your computer to communicate with a computer that has an IPv6 IP-address, but which does not announce its IPv4 IP-address?

Probable answer:  you do not need it.  If you did, then the system-administrator of that remote computer will give you instructions on how to use Toredo to access that remote computer.

The Other Person referenced a YouTube video that disablesToredo.

From a "computer-security" point-of-view, it's probably good to disable what which you never will use -- lock-and-bar a door into your home that you never use.

Anyway, the trouble-shooter is correct, but, in this case, is "irrelevant" to your needs. So, just IGNORE that error-message.

>  Confirm Form Resubmission Google Chrome Error

This can happen on an online E-commerce web-site.

For example, you have picked some items, loaded them into your "shopping-cart", and clicked "check-out".

On that "check-out" page, you enter your personal information, and your credit-card details.

When you click "Purchase" (or "Buy Now"), then your order is submitted, and your credit-card is charged, and a web-page appears that says "purchase completed".

Do not press the 'F5' keyboard key, which cause the web-page to be re-submitted, i.e., you have just repeated your order, and your credit-card gets charged again.

So, if you did press 'F5', Google Chrome indicates "please confirm that you wish to re-submit your order, to double-up your purchase", by reporting "Confirm Form Resubmission".

This is a feature of Google Chrome to try to protect you from your attempt to "double" your order.

This is *NOT* an error in the programming of Google Chrome.

Since it is *YOU* who made the "error", keeping you away from the F5 key on the computer is the only PERMANENT fix.

Pro Liant ML110 will not start anymore

Dear Community,

At first: my English isn't perfect because I’m from Germany.

I’m in trouble with a ML100 G5 Server. This system is just responsible for the exchange connection. But by now it will not start after a power error.

Before the system starts, the bios send an error and block the start up.

By the way: the CPU FAN works the whole time on full power! (There are 2 connections, 1 for the heat sink, 1 for the CPU Fan).

Error log show the following message:

Sensor type: 04-fan

Sensor number:31- cpu fan

Event typ: 01- Thresholdd

Event Description: low Critical Going Low. Assertion

CPU0 Diode showing N/A.

Seems that the sensor- information is missing and so the fan works on full speed and the Bios avoid the start up.

It is the first time that the old lady causes such a trouble.

Is it helpful to change the cooler with heatsink?

Sorry if I was not clear Dean.  Most HP systems I have worked with in the past if you press F11, it will run the recover from a partition of the hard drive.  In this case with Windows 10 on the unit, it goes straigt to the Windows 10 recovery, but you either alreay have to have a CD made, to which my comment was it seems you have to have done that before a problem when you first get the system probably in the  initial setup of the PC.

I actualy did some playing in the system and took a bit of going through each menu  in the recover and finaly found the restore option that cleans files and personal data that does not come with the PC and have it resetting now.  Just not as clear cut as pervious restores I have used.   Once I get this restore finished, I will post the exact steps for anyone following.

Thanks for reaching out to us on HP Support Forums. Smiley Happy I came across your post and would like to help.

I understand that you have an HP TouchSmart 610-1230uk Desktop PC. I read that HDMI connection is not working. The HP Picture in Picture application is missing.

To provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • When was the last time the HP Picture in Picture application was available for use on your PC?
  • Did you make any software changes or did any updates happen on the PC?
  • Are you able to use any other application?
  • When you say HDMI does not work, do you mean that there is no display when an HDMI screen is connected to the PC?

Meanwhile, I suggest you to perform the following steps to reinstall the HP Picture in Picture application:

  1. Turn off the computer.

  2. Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware. Do not disconnect the monitor, keyboard, mouse, or power cord.

  3. Turn on the computer.

  4. Click Start , click All Programs, click Recovery Manager, and then click Recovery Manager again.

If you are prompted for an Administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. If a User Account Control window asks if you want to allow the program to make changes to the computer, click Yes.

Figure : Recovery Manager

Recovery Manager

  • Under I need help immediately, click Software program reinstallation. This should give you a list of programs that can be installed. Please select the HP Picture in Picture program and install it.

I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know. Cheers! Smiley Happy

There are several iterations of the A8M2N-LA motherboard, but they are not that special that Windows 7 would give an odd message such as that.  I have had two different A8M2N-LA motherboards with windows 7 installed with no problem.  This CPU PAGE lists some possible models that used a version of the A8M2N-LA . I see the HP site says that hardware is retired.   The Media Center PC's originally came with WinXP and then were upgraded to Vista.  Still the driverscape sites lists drivers.

Are you using an original Windows 7 install disk?

BTW: be cautious of using a BIOS update until you find out which version of the motherboard you have.  Using the wrong BIOS could cause problems.

Fatal Error C0000022 Unable to Startup PC and System Restore Fails to Complete

I have tried to startup my PC, but every time I do, I get "Fatal Error C0000022" and my PC eventually just goes to sleep. I then shut it off and back on again, and I get a message that says it didn't start up correctly. It gives me an option to troubleshoot, which I do, and I've gone through all the scans and it doesn't change anything. I go to System Restore and I have 3 different restore points. I have tried all of them, and each time the process is interrupted by Fatal Error C0000022. The only other option I have is to reset my PC, but I'd rather check here first and see if anything else can be done. It's been months since I've gone on my PC, so I don't know what has changed, nor do I recall what software I use. Please help! Thank you!

Re: hp phone call scam

They're getting names and numbers from the hp forums. I posted here for the first time yesterday and only a few hours later I got a call from "hp support". I immidately called the guy out and he hung up. Serveral hours later I got another call and this one wasn't so easily deterred.  I continuously called her out but she kept insisting she wasn't a scammer. I wasn't doing anything so I kept her on the phone for about 30 minutes before telling her I was a computer engineer and I know hp doesn't call their customers out of the blue. She then asked if I was a computer engineer why the h**l did I waste her time. I let her know it was so she didn't scamone else and she hung up. She was pretty upset that I took up so much of her scamming time. Kinda scary that she had my cell number and name though....

they must have various ways of getting our info.; they called me before I joined the forum & had my computer make, model, and about the work that HP did, as well as my cell #....I canceled my credit card and got another one, just in case.  That info had to come from HP support, which I used 6 months prior.

She did claim to get the information from when I registered my laptop. But that was about 5 years ago and I haven't used it in probably 2 years.
