Is there any way possible that I can use the smaller hard drive in my slimline model s3500f. The original drive has failed and needs to be replaced. I have anever used sata hard drive that I bought a few years ago it is 300Gb. The drive that failed was 500. I simply do not have the money to buy another hard drive. Neither do I have the money to purchase a vista 64 install disk. I made recovery disks when I first bought the machine like agood girl should but now I am finding out that they will not work to install the OS onto the new drive because it is smaller.
Is there any way to get around this? My financial situation like so many others has changed drastically since I bought the computer and trying to come up with money$$ for either a new hard drive or installation disk would take time and my son needs the computer for school that starts this week.
