You can disable Windows Script Hosting. In fact Symantec recommends disabling WSH as a way to prevent virus code that uses VBScripts from running automatically without your knowledge.

Symantec has a tool called "noscript" that you can use to enable/disable WSH.

I would create a System Restore point before running this program in case you want to undo it later.
