Re: Pavilion a6000n PC Desktop won't boot Vista Home Premium 32bit

Thanks Paul for the suggestion.  I ordered the disks twice.  The first set had a blank disk 2.  The second set they sent me two sets and the 2 was blank in one set and the 1 was blank in the spare.  However the problem still exist.  The bootmanager is missing.  Sometimes I get system32\winload.exe failed.  I have lost count of all the ways I have tried to repair this.  I finally got the recovery paratition to be recognized by copying the bcd and boot files to it.  I set the recovery partition to active but it still won't boot.

Note:  With the recovery partition set to active, I did not get the bootmanager missing at the beginning. But the hdd would not boot.  Black screen.  The recovery disks would not work either, bootmanager missing.  I reset the boot flag.

I bought a new hdd to use the recovery disks on and I would have transferred the files I wanted to save to it.  However, the hdd began overheating and died.  That's what I get for buying one from ebay.

I used REMO on the original hdd and discovered there are now 17 partitions on it, including the recovery partition.

I have purchased and used other Vista repair disks to no avail.

Any suggestions on how to repair the bcd when the unit will not boot almost everything I have tried?

Do you think if I took it to an experienced repair shop they could fix it?

I have been working on and off on this for a year now.  It has been a learning experience in many ways.  But now my patience is running low and I want it fixed.

If a solution cannot be found soon I may just repartition and reformat the drive if I can find some software to do it.  Then I will go out and get another operating system and use my COA.
