As the subject says, I have an HP Pavilion p7-1439 desktop computer that comes preinstalled with Windows 8 and I know for a fact it is possible to have a fully functional Windows 7 on it as witnessed in this thread:
All the drivers I will need are listed in that thread so that isn't the issue.
The issue is installing Windows 7 on what it thinks is a GTP partition that I deleted and formatted, but it still won't install.
The computer comes with multiple partitions including "Windows RE Tools", "SYSTEM", two others, one being blank though claiming to be reserved, the Primary partition, and the Recovery Image partition. (OEM Reserved).
If I can't format the Primary partition into NTFS how can I install Windows 7? It's a big problem as when I wiped the Primary it got rid of Windows 8: I have no OS right now and no way to get another copy of Windows 8. I don't have the product key and no money to buy a new copy of Windows 8 but I have a copy of Windows 7.
I have legacy mode on and secure boot turned off. (Otherwise how else would I get into the installer?)
Some help would be immensly appreciated as I've looked everywhere for help.
