Pavillion m9340f Vista home premium,
original hard drive & replacement both seagate barracuda SATA
"windows setup could not configure windows to run on this computer's hardware"
After disk crash, replaced hard drive.
Using Vista Home Premium SP1 recovery discs (w/supplemental disk) from HP, started recovery.
First step was to run tools, hard drive test. Seek and scan passed.
Put disk 1 in drive and powered off, then on.
Bypassed System restore and went to Recovery.
All disks used, including supplemental disk. Everything OK
reformat & reinstall original content OK
'Recovery Complete' & reboot OK
Window with 'startnet.command' opens, 'build partition' appears
Screen with 'HP Flexbuild 2.0' appears, then reboot
'Installing Windows' starts,
copying files OK
expanding files OK
installing features OK
installing updates OK
completing installation - This is where the window with the 'windows setup cou.....hardware; appears
I have no idea where to go from here. Seagate told me to 'Call HP'. HP support told me to buy another machine, even though I was going to pay for support. This forum and Microsoft are my last hope.
Can anyone PLEASE suggest something. I can't just throw this machine away.
