My problem was solved for previous owner's settings on XP desktop computer.  They said to come back and start a new thread for my memory.  Specs:

XP Home Edition

v. 2002, SP3

Compaq Presario Intel Inside (R)

Celeron (R)  CPU 2.53 ghz

248 MB of RAM

Product # PC130A-ABA

Model # SR1111NX

Memory Type:  DDRPC2700; DDRPC3200

I just did a system recovery this morning.  I registered the computer to me and then cicked on Internet Explorer.  It brought up AOL homepage and couldn't connect.  I then went to programs came with this pc for internet easy sign-up and fast-access internet.  I am with Comcast Cable with their modem.

Neither had it listed.  Have current IE8 and Firefox 23.  To get on the internet, I went and changed to automatic detect and got online.  Unfortunately, I cannot install updates nor anti-virus/Norton Security Suite with Comcast.  I do not have enough memory.  Just Windows Firewall is on.  I guess before I use this computer I have to buy another memory card?

Someone in previous thread said to post again and I could get help with maybe getting rid of things on here using a lot of memory.  Please help!
