htm files will not open or freeze

Hello,

I just recently bought a brand new computer, and HP Pavillion and they have Windows 8 installed on it, which is taking me a bit to get used to.

It was doing something strange the other day, on my desktop when I'd click on an icon, the icon afterwards would stay looking like I was clicking on it, instead of what it normally does ... with the rectangle around it.

So anyway I decided to just do the PC Refresher system restore thing, so it wouldn't be acting up and now when I am trying to sort my computer files out, and I click on an htm file it will just sit there with a blank white page and I am lucky if the page finally shows up, but it takes a minute. It used to pop on there right away. Its really frustrating because I am a web designer and have many many pages and files that I need to sort out.

Can you help me with this please. I was not sure if there was a contact email on your site but I found an email to report problems so I clicked on that. Please forgive me if its the wrong email. Im so frustrated because I am going to end up paying about £700 for this computer on credit and its only a week or so old.
