The Recovery Discs can be created before or after the use of the Recovery Manager and the full Recovery process. I suggest creating them beforehand, in case something goes. This is your contingency plan and allows you to recover the computer in the event of a failure. NO, the recovery discs won't be damaged or bad... they are made directly from the Recovery partition.
