OK, that was different at least :smileyfrustrated:
The Recovey Manager did allow me to just reinstall PowerDVD 10 after first uninstalling through Control Panel.
I then tried applying the update file again and was surprised to get the following message:
CyberLink PowerDVD was detected on your system. Please uninstall first.
Do you want to uninstall CyberLink PowerDVD now?
Yes / No
On selecting 'Yes', the following error message comes up:
Can't load SKUtil.dll
OK
I click OK and get the follwing error message:
Error Number: 0x80040702
Description: Failed to load DLL: SKUtil
setup will now terminate
I also tried first uninstalling PowerDVD and then running the update, but that unsurprisingly complained it couldn't find the product on the system to apply the update to. So a no win I'm afraid, won't update it if already installed and can't update it if it's not :smileyfrustrated:
Guess I'll admit defeat and call HP Support, or just not bother with the update :smileyhappy:
But thanks for the suggestions, at least I now know that I can re-install individual products that came pre-installed using Recovery Manager.
