Re: Format Raid0 as regular drive

1.  In disk management- It shows:  Disk 2,  Unknown,  596.18 GB,  Not Initialized;  I right click the left box: It says initialize disk, offline, properties and help:  I click on properties it Opens a small window that says "Intel Raid 0 Volumn Properties", Underal "General" it says Intel Raid 0 Volumn, Device status says " this device is working properly". The driver version is 6.3.9600.16384,m dated 6/21/2006.   Under events, it shows as a Raid  0 Volumn- device configured and device started.

2.  In Device Manager-  It shows: Under  Disk drives as Intel Raid 0 Volumn;

3. Under "Control Panel" then "hardware and sound", then "Intel Rapid Storage Technology",  it shows Sata Disk 0, Sata disk 1, ATAPI device and another ATAPI device...(No mention of the Raid 0 drive, which should show as Drive 2);

4. In Control panel", then System and Security", then "Storage Spaces" , then Manage Storage Spaces", it shows  " Drives with an unrecognized configuration" and in that box it references the Intel Raid 0 Volumn attached vie SATA and also says "Error" Failed;remove drive"

Note:  This is one of a pair of WD Cavier Blue 320GB HDD's. (note that it is showing up as 596.18 GB in device manager)

It came out of a HP Pavilian with Vista Untimate that died after an electrical surge (Lightning strike)

Dave, I appreciate your assistance. I am learning a lot from this exercise.

Jim
