Hi ! I'm afraid I'm not much help. If your MB over heated and died taking your HD with it, do you think that it may have taken the touch pad out also? I think you did great to recover every thing except the touch pad. I would not even think about going that far to recover my lap top. Sense you have the ability to do all that, maybe you might think about replacing the touch pad. That should be easy for you if you accomplished getting your lap top back this far. Personally I don't give a flip for a touch pad.:smileywink: I like my wireless mouse.
