Hello everyone, I'm hoping someone can help me out, and please bear with me as I'm only slightly computer literate when it comes to operating systems and hardware. I went looking for some older pictures of my daughter and me today only to find that the cd they are on won't read in my HP pavilion laptop, so I plugged in the older desktop they were originally stored on to try to get them off of there. The computer is an HP Pavilion 7955 (pretty sure it was running Windows XP home). When I power on I get the blue HP screen, then after a few seconds it goes to a black screen, and a few seconds later reads "Disk boot failure Insert system disk and press Enter."
I'm almost 100% sure I never had any boot disks or recovery disks with this computer. If anyone can help me get this computer to boot up long enough to get some pictures onto a jump drive, I sure would appreciate it.
If it matters, I probably haven't fired the 7955 up in at least 5-6 years. It was working fine when I shut it down the last time I used it (replaced it with a newer model of compaq).
Also if it helps the product tag on the back reads
HW BOM: 101
SW BOM: NA07
System number: P5269A
Serial Number: xxxxxxxxxx (the posting page recommended not including any serial numbers)f
Thanks!
