After a VERY frustrating time with a non-english as a first language customer support technician.... I have reached out to this forum as a last resort. As others have stated, there is NO APP AVAILABLE for the HP Connected Remote in the GOOGLE PLAY STORE for Android devices. There are several third party software titles, and several other HP apps such as E-print. My new HP Pavillion came pre-installed with HP Connected Remote, and in fact it was a selling point. I performed the update and the app on the computer seems to be working fine. Turn to the Android devices it is supposed to connect with --and there is no such app to be found anywhere what so-ever that matches the app on the computer. The on-line help technician stated that the software for the Android app had yet to be developed and offered. I am pretty sure this is a bogus claim. That is like advertising and selling a can of soda only to open it and find its empty. But maybe you can get it filled later? If I dont find resolution here, or a straight and believable answer....this computer is going back in the box and to the store, period.
Based on on-line reviews after scouring forums, I am pretty confident the app has exsisted for the Android Market. The instructions of the app on the computer even detail where to find the app... It is not there. In fact, it cannot be found on the computer based internet search of GOOGLE Play Store, or any of my 5 Android powered devices I would like to connect. So where is it HP? Do you know your advertised app is missing? Did you take it down for some reason? Is there a new and better version coming back in the near future? Give me SOMETHING! The clock is ticking...
On a side note, customer service and technical support with routine issues goes a LONG way with many consumers. Your potentually outsourced online support is really hurting the chances of me buying another HP product. Very disapointed.
