I wonder how many times this topic is going to surface and resurface? More than just a few have had issues with HPSA especially after an update from 8.0 to 8.1. What is amazing to me is that HP doesn't seem to be able to offer a definitive fix to get an HP software package to run on their own computers. Not real comforting to all those having problems.
I too had some funky issues with HPSA after the update to 8.1 though not nearly as frustrating as most of the others. I did not try to un-install via the control panel but checked for new version from within HPSA itself "check for newer version" A new version was identified so I elected to download it and the process HPSA un-installed the existing version, installed and reconfigured the new version all within the HPSA window. This fixed some of the problems but it still generates an error from time to time in the event monitor. I like the idea of HPSA but if I can't get to run totally error free I will probably un-install.
