Re: Upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 7

If my colleages have failed to convince you to stick with W8.1, and you are determined to install W7 64 bit on your PC, here is what you need to do...

1. Make your set of W8 recovery media before proceeding to install W7.

Relying on the recovery partition to restore your PC to W8.1 after you installed W7, will most likely be a losing proposition. Info on how to do this is below.

2. Next you need to change 2 bios settings in order to install and to continue to run W7.

3. Now that you have installed W7 64 bit, below are the links to all the drivers you need:

Install the amd chipset driver and reboot. You want the first file listed on the webpage.

Install the AMD graphics driver and reboot.

Install the audio driver and reboot. Accept the agreement, download and install the second file on the list.

Install the ethernet driver. You want the second file on the list.
