Hello Xysaerv,

I understand you are getting the Virtual Disk service will not start error when trying to do a recovery on your computer. I am setting out some steps for you to try below to resolve this error:

Step 1. Click Start

Step 2. Click All Programs

Step 3. Click Accessories

Step 4. Right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator
Step 5. Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted
Step 6. Type "sfc /scannow", hit ENTER

***NOTE: Once the scan has completed you will receive an onscreen message resembling one of the following: …found no , integrity violations, …found corruption but repaired it, …found corruption that it could not repair. Please reply with the completion message that you received.

You can also try with these steps:

Step 1. Click start

Step 2. Type "services" and hit ENTER
Step 3. Click the service that you want to start

Step 4. Click Properties
Step 5. Right-click the Log On tab

Step 6. Click to select the Allow service to interact with desktop check box
Step 7. Click OK

Please re-post if you require additional assistance. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
