From Newegg's website;
Here is the HP specs page for the HP Pavilion p7-1154 Desktop Computer. Please note the HP p7-1154 shipped from the factory with Windows 7 installed. It is unlikely that HP Recovery Discs will work for this computer, as they contain Windows 7 and most likely will require the system information to be present in the BIOS to function.
Does / did the computer come with a Microsoft COA as pictured below???
If so what version of Windows is indicated??? If you have a Windows 8 key, where did it come from??? Do you know if a Windows 8 key is embedded in the BIOS???
If the BIOS has an embedded key or you have a COA with valid Windows 8 OEM key, you can try this Windows 8 OEM download; http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&sqi=2...
This is an unofficial "official licensed copy of Windows 8 OEM." Download this file (you may have to try several time or repeatedly to successfully download this file) and burn the ISO image to a DVD. Set the BIOS to use UEFI, enable "Secure Boot" and disable "Legacy Support... if these options are present. Boot from this disk and install Windows 8. It should register as an official copy and use the key embedded in the BIOS. Please note that no HP customizations nor HP value-added will be installed using this method.
