Hello Everyone
Pls forgive me but I am new here. ALSO VERY much FRUSTRATED with this 'situation' I am in.
1)> story = I bought a HP ENVY laptop ( non touch smart) from HP OUTLET store in Dec 2013. Yes it was cheaper and came with 90DAY warranty.Teh laptop wasnt shipped till Dec 24th , and not received untill DEC 29th 2013.
2)> at UNPACKING we noticed that the laptop = SHIPPED WITH BATTERY INSTALLED ((generally laptops are shipped with battery in seperate compartment - thats when we noticed that the BATTERY LATCH (big battery in our case) was BROKEN and a small part had fallen off inside the BOX!!!
ALSO NOTED = had Windows 8.1 PRO version ( but paperwork said Win8 only) .....so we didnt mind the Free UPGRADE !
3)>> We booted the laptop via POWER CORD (NO BATTERY) = all ok so far
4)>>> Than in new year we called HP to see if they could have this laptop repared ( battery fix = not small job I was told by servce order guy!!)
5>>> we send laptop in to repair with a note saying " pls also UPGRADE our Win 8 PRO to 8.1" if possible"
6) laptop came back to us after 4 weeks ( 2 weeks repair , 2 weeks traveling) yip its true !
>> then we noted , that laptop wont BOOT past the HP LOGO
>> called HP Support >> they told us
"" your 90 day warranty is expired"
Now I am in need for RECOVERY DISK and no way to get it ?? YES I can pay for it , but it seems I havent had this laptop to use over over 2-3 days in total !! and now I have to PAY FOR THE RECOVERY DISK . To make matters worse when I do to the link @HP , they can only give me WIN 8 ( basic version) and not the PROFESSIONAL VERSION of windows that came with it in first place
ANyways in HP who is listering can help me?
