I tried the methods from the documents I downloaded, nothing works. First I tried the F10 key by repeatedly pressing it. The computer simply boots normally. So I tried the other method by repeatedly pressing the escape key. When the log on screen came up I pressed F10. Still nothing. Can you give me something else to try out.
tefox and Paul,
For future reference, accessing the BIOS in Win8 is done with a setting that you apply before you even hit restart. This was done because of Win8's fast boot time. As you experienced, tefox, it's hit or miss if you try to do it at startup, because you have a 200 millisecond window in which to do it.
Anyhow, this article outlines the how and the why--

And it does work, by the way. I know, because after 15 to 20 unsuccessful attempts to do it at startup, I got smart and googled the solution!!
