Thanks for making my point. If HP wants to be mixed in with the emachines/gateway computers they are going about it perfectly. These are low end disposable machines.
I installed win 7 on my Samsung laptop which came with Win 8. Took about 2 hours start to finish. Pulled hd that came in laptop installed ssd, booted machine with win 7 fisc and was done. Samsung provided drivers for both OS.
Delk, samsung, alienware, sager all offer options on what OS you want. I understand that if you buy your pc in a retail store you have limited choices, but for a company as large as HP ro offer no support on a still current and a far better OS is sad.
