Please don't think tl;dr. Need help.
I've got a pretty big problem at the moment, one that's lasted since September last year. I really hope someone on this forum can help, I no longer know what to do.
A week after buying my HP 64 bit Windows Home Premium (Product No. B7G53EA#ABU), I experienced big problems with my wirless internet connecitivity. I was connected to a router in a room approx. 10 metres away from my bedroom, where my PC is. There would be 1 or 2 minute spells where it was working perfectly; the speed was fast and how you would expect.
However after the spells of 'normality' the internet speed would constantly slow down to a crawl, taking a ridiculous 30 odd seconds to load a site like Google. I would keep getting the "Google Chrome was not able to connect to this webpage message", and the ONLY way to solve this issue was by disconnecting from the network and reconnecting. It worked to an extent- I would get normal, fast internet for around a minute, which would then turn slow and simply unuseable afterwards.
So maybe it's my router? I decided to connect to a different network alltogether- the issues were exactly the same. Constant shifts between normal, fast internet, and excruciating slowness and failure to load webpages up.
Bearing in my mind this is all going on over a wirless internet connection, I wanted to see what would happen if I used a wired LAN connection. I had no problems whatsoever, everything loaded up normally. What was however startling was that when I moved my PC into the same room as my router (right next to it) and connected wirelessly (unplugged LAN cable), it worked perfectly, I had no issues at all! But surely a 10 meter difference between my router and PC should pose no connection problems; I have another computer all the way downstairs and it connects fine.
So why is it that when I try to connect to my router wirlessly from a different room, or a different network alltogether, I experience shifts between internet at a normal speed for 30-60 seconds followed by spells of slowness and failure to display webpages. I tried a system restore, nothing. I have all the latest updated from HP and windows. I need someone to help.
