If you havn't emptied the "Recycle Bin" yet, you may be able to open it restore the file/folder to its oroginal location. If you deleted it in a more permenent fashion, you may have to use some form of file/folder ecovery software. If that doesn't work, your last option is to use your HP Recovery Disc set to return the computer to a factory like state.

It happened quite a few weeks ago so, its long gone now. It was just until now that I realised what I have done.

I'm only left with the last option so I believe I'll do that.

But could you explain to me what the portal file does?

Also because I deleted it, will it affect HP Recovery in any way?

Right now I think it effected the HP Recovery start up when I access it via the Esc Button when my computer starts up.

Could you clear things up for me please?

Thankyou very much for the reply, Chrono.
