Re: Trying to change my password on the HP website.
Hello.Thanks for your reply.
Oddly enough to reply to your messge I was asked to log into this forum with my username and password. And that worked fine. Then from within the forum I clicked on my username at the top right and was able to navigate over and find a way to change my password.
So I dont really know whick HP login screen I was using earlier, but this time it took me to a different area where I was able to sucessfully change my password.
Thanks!
Keir

Re: warranty
HP Support Assistant is not catching critical updates for Windows 10
I have been using HP Support Assistant to scan for Window updates and have not had any in a while. Just used McAfee Livesafe to scan for Windows updates and a Critical Update for Windows 10 was found and installed.
Re: HP Support Assistant is not catching critical updates for Windows 10
While HP Support Assistant does a very good job of finding Windows 10 updates, I still find it better to run both HPSA and Windows Update to assure that I am getting all available updates. It takes a bit more time, but worth it.
Please click the Thumbs up + button if I have helped you and click Accept as Solution if your problem is solved.
Re: HP all-in-one too slow!
I have tried it before. No results.
software for HP ProDesk 400 G5 MT
Hello! Why are there no Windows 7x64 drivers for HP ProDesk 400 G5 MT. Can you help with this question? I really do not want to put Windows 10. Write driver if there is such opportunity please! Windows 7 put by integrating USB 3.0 drivers into the OS distribution. Thanks for understanding!
Re: software for HP ProDesk 400 G5 MT
The HP Prodesk 400 G5 MT use Intel Gen 8th processors/CPU's
https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06041613
Vendors, specially Intel won't write/develope drivers for Windows 7, 8 and 8.1.
If you wish to use Windows 7, you have to buy an older machine (Gen 6, 5 or earlier).
Regards.
Re: failure code on irq test and rom test on hp diagnois software prog
AmpLighter: I've got the same results here. The diagnostics reports IRQ and ROM error, even though it's just my wifi and mobile modem cards that I deliberately disabled in the Device manager of windows. Enabling them, the test runs with no errors.
Re: Windows 10 when upgrade delete all of windows 7 then put no drivers in ten keeps going to restor
I understand you don't work for hp. And no disrespect but that doesn't answer the question on how do I get my computer to work? I have no money to send it in to get fixed. If not does that mean my computer is junk?
Re: Relatek PCle GBE Family controller
That code means your hard drive is failing, and when that happens, a host of other problems can appear, including driver problems.
If your PC is new enough to support UEFI, you can use these steps to test the hard drive: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00439024
If not, you have to follow these steps:
1) Press Esc key repeatedly, several times a second, while rebooting the laptop. Do NOT hold the key down, just press it over and over.
2) Eventually, you will see an HP Startup Menu -- that will look similar to the image below ...
3) press the Function key for testing the hard drive (usually F2) and let it run.
Please report back the test results.
Re: Windows 10 when upgrade delete all of windows 7 then put no drivers in ten keeps going to restor
Windows Update can fail due to a variety of reasons, from lack of disk space to failing hard drive, and when it does, there is no simple way to recover from that as your PC is usually then left in a corrupted state.
Your PC came with a utility from HP for making Recovery Media, but apparently, you did not make use of that.
So now, your only way to get back to a working WIN10 installation would be to reinstall it from installation media -- and that will remove pretty much everything on it.
If you want to retain files and personal data, you would need to remove the hard drive from the PC, connect it to another PC, and copy over the files and folders you want to save BEFORE you did the Windows reinstallation.
Your best bet for recovering data now is to do the following:
1) Remove the hard drive from the PC
2) Purchase a USB-to-Hard Driver adapter kit
3) Connect the old drive to the working PC
4) Copy over the files and folders you want to save.
When that is done, use this link to create install media for Win10 (on the other PC): Windows 10 download
Once you have that, reinstall the hard drive in your PC, insert the Win10 install media, boot from it, and do a reinstallation.
