Thanks for the try at an answer. You missed my point. I was told by your phone technician that one was NOT AVAILABLE....period....end of subject. No offer to help me find a replacement.....no offer to search your system....basically I got the brush off.
If you read my original post, later, when I was able to get to a working computer and did my own search of the HP web site I in fact found the EXACT REPLACEMEMT.
I called tech support because I was working at the computer with the failed hard drive. That computer was NOT operational. It certainly would have been much better customer support had the technician taken the time to find the item that is available AND help me get it on order. They had looked up the computer via the serial number, the had the specifications to the hard drive on the computer in front of them. Why they could not go the extra step and really help is beyond comprehension.
My point is, your customer support in this case was really terrible.
