Re: Should I bring my new HP Desktop back to Best Buy?

RGH,

I think I might have worded my response with a bit more finesse.  Smiling.  My apologies.

Well, I do admit, I do not understand Norton -- it has been years since I've used the software.  I understand from reading about it that it is quite good now.  Many Experts here on the forum do use and prefer it.  That the software came installed and then would not run is a mystery for which I have no reasonable answer.  It does seem odd to say the least.  Did you call HP Support?

Another admission:  I do not buy Desktops.  We build the desktops and buy the notebooks.

I agree that "this shall be upgraded" and that "shall not be upgraded" is frustrating.  I have been caught in it and I don't like it any better than the next guy.  Point taken.

I do  not know whether there is any way for anyone outside of HP to know if and when HP will certify a system.

If you are having trouble with a particular driver and can post the Hardware IDs, I will see if I can find a Windows 8.1 replacement for it.   If I cannot do so, I can ask for help.

It is a nice way to say “Thank You" for the help.

Although I strive to reflect HP's best practices, I do not work for HP.
