The Windows 8 key is a DPK (digital product key). This means that it is encrypted and embedded in the BIOS/CMOS. Please use the HP Recovery Media you created when you first setup your computer, to return the computer to a factory like state. If you didn't create this media, please see DVD - English, French Windows 8 64b 12NA3RR8601 or contact official HP Customer Support in your region / country, via the HP Worldwide Support Portal, to see if HP Recovery Media is available for your computer. Software may not be covered by the warranty and there may be a charge for the HP Recovery Media.
Alternatively, you can try this Windows 8 OEM download; http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=en_windows_8_x64_dvd_915440.iso&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&sqi=2...
This is an unofficial "official licensed copy of Windows 8 OEM." Download this file (you may have to try several time or repeatedly to successfully download this file) and burn the ISO image to a DVD. Set the BIOS to use UEFI, enable "Secure Boot" and disable "Legacy Support... if these options are present. Boot from this disk and install Windows 8. It should register as an official copy and use the key embedded in the BIOS. Please note that no HP customizations nor HP value-added will be installed using this method.
