If I Do a Factory Restore will it prompt me to make Recovery Disks

I recently posed a question here that in the course of further comments, some one made me to wonder why I had not created recovery disks if case the HD failed. I don't remember that big a deal being made of making them and I thought that's what the D:/ (recovery drive) was for. I guess not, and now I understand, what good does the recovery partition do if the HD fails. But a respected user of this forum said I should have made recovery disk, as I mentioned, if the HD failed. I don't know why if it's so important it's not spatterred all over the screen MAKE YOUR RECOVERY DISKS NOW. It just didn't seem to make a big issue of it. She said she also had a pc once that didn't prompt you to make disks, although most do as a standard procedure. However these disks are not available anywhere online. Here is my question and I don't think you need to know the DNA of my particular machine. It's a pretty generic HP question. But I will mention I have a newer HP Pavillion 23 Desktop running Win8. The recover partion is on D:/

If I restored the complete OS with the recovery partition, would I be prompted once again to make the disks? Then I would have them. I do so little with disks. I guess it would have to be CD data disks that can write and re-write?

But, the big new question, if I do a recovery using F11 would it prompt me to make the disks?

Thank you I do appreciate the time you've spent reading this through.  Jack  ":-D
