Im using the IPIS8-CU motherboard, I7 processor. the pc is out of warranty, but the bios is all dinked up on the system. now there is a rom recovery option, can i use this to reflash the bios?!
iits a desktop computer, so can i do the windows key + B option with a USB thumbdrive (the pc turns on, if i remove the ram it will do the errror messages for the ram)
but if i put it all in and run it just sits on black screen. no posting at all..
this pc was working fine, and id hate to have to pay an OOW fee for a stupid messed up bios flash (done properly)
ran update, it said restart, etc etc.. when i restarted the monitor would not come back up or po0st anything..
ive tried removing cmos battery, clearing cmos etc.
What is the cheapest alternative to sending this in for repair.. can i just snag another IPIS8-cu motherboard and transfer the rest over to the mobo? (im assuming everything else would work no?)
*sigh* please dont respond with the automatic *if it wasnt broke why did you update the bios*
ive read horro stories about this and now im one of them.. bios updates never go properly.. ever.. and it would seem HP is really bad for this..
hopefully i can work around this..
